• Bush book signing Center’s Joann Bush will conduct a book signing at Bosslight Book Store at 123 E Main in Nacogdoches on April 20 noon to 3 p.m. Her book, ‘My Borrowed Angel: God’s Message about the Future,’ recounts her journey, the tragic car accident that claimed the lives of her son, his wife, and their 10-month-old daughter and the profound experiences of receiving messages from him, asking her to help children.

• PWPS meeting The Piney Woods Photographic Society monthly meeting at the First Methodist Church, 211 Porter Street in Center from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Workshop on “Animals/Pet Photography.” Visitors always welcome to attend. Come sit in on a session and see if the Piney Woods Photographic Society is the place for you.

• Clever Creek meeting Clever Creek Baptist Church on FM 417 West will host Evangelist Jim Moss April 28 – May 1 for “Stepping With Jesus.” Sunday School at 10 a.m. and preaching at 10:55 a.m. Supper at 6 p.m. and the preaching service at 7 p.m. Bro. Barney Bryant of Parkway Baptist Church in Carthage will lead the music Sunday night through Wednesday night. Sheran Bryant will accompany the music on the piano each night. All are welcome to share in the supper and in worship.

• Fish fry fundraiser Center Police Department Ladies Auxiliary Fish Fry Fundraiser for Officer Luis Acuna who had emergency surgery and facing follow up. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until sold-out at the Center Police Department at 1020 Shelbyville Street. Drive-thru pick up will be available. Plates $10 with fish, fries, hushpuppies, and a drink. Pre-sale tickets are available at the Center Police Department, or by contacting a CPD Ladies Auxiliary member. Also, CPD Ladies Auxiliary raffles for three drawings to win great prizes. Tickets are $5 each, drawing May 4.
