Center PD takes the win in The Battle of the Badges 2023

The third annual Battle of the Badges Friday, July 21 reported a successful outcome with 32 donors, 29 of them successful, and more than 200 plates sold during the barbecue fundraiser.

The community wide blood drive stages a friendly competition between the Center Police Department and the Shelby County Sheriff ’s Office. The Center Police Department “won the battle” this year with 22 donors. The Shelby County Sheriff ’s Office had a total of 10 donors.

“Thank you to everyone who came out and supported Center Police Department Auxiliary and Operation Blue Santa by buying raffle tickets or barbecue plates for the fundraiser, and also those that chose to save lives and donate blood at Battle of the Badges Community Blood Drive,” said Amy Lindley, one of the event organizers.

Vee Scrimsher was the gun raffle winner and Scooter Clark won the Crystal Beach fishing trip.
