The Tenaha Tigers have fallen to a 3-2 record heading into district play after their final non-district game against the De Kalb Bears resulted in a 64-28 loss. This marks Tenaha’s second loss in a row after a flawless 3-0 start to the season. Fortunately, district play officially begins this week and Tenaha is poised to contend for a playoff spot.

Junior quarterback Brikelian Kenny completed 21 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown. He also carried the ball 10 times for 59 yards and a touchdown. Senior running back Jordan Reese carried the ball 16 times for 22 yards and a touchdown. Senior DJ Cooks carried the ball four times for 28 yards and a touchdown.

Kamarion Ross led the team in receiving yards with 66 on six catches. Ja’Tyrian Moore collected five passes for 27 yards. Avanta Fredieu snagged three catches for 42 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Kenny was able to come up with six tackles and an interception. Moore had four tackles and a fumble recovery. Cooks is credited with a forced fumble and 12 tackles. Sophomore Ferg Ross tallied eight tackles and junior Seth Stokes also totaled eight tackles.

Tenaha is now heading on a crash course with the Carlisle Indians for their district opener. Carlisle is currently 2-3, but they are a historically tough team that should not be taken lightly.
