Last Thursday, the Joaquin Rams traveled to Beckville for their second game of the season. Unfortunately, Joaquin’s record has fallen to 0-2 after a 60-27 loss at the hands of the Bearcats. Beckville’s season began with a 50-13 beating from the Timpson Bears the week prior. Beckville entered this matchup with a chip on their shoulder. Joaquin was unable to overcome the Bearcats’ desire to prove themselves.

Joaquin appears to be utilizing both Gauge Jordan and Justyn Brown at quarterback. Both players threw completions during their week two outing. In fact, the two athletes had completions to one another. They’re a talented pair that will factor heavily into the Rams’ game plan moving forward. Opposing defenses will need to avoid complacency given this layer of unpredictability presented by the Rams.

Joaquin will now look toward turning things around. This week they face neighboring rival Tenaha. The Rams will make the short trip west on US-84 as they take on the Tigers on the road. Tenaha is currently sitting at a perfect 2-0. Joaquin will be eager to hand them their first loss.

Given their desire to right the ship and earn a victory over a rival, look for Joaquin to pull out all the stops in this matchup.
