The Corrigan Camden Bulldogs were no match for the Timpson Bears. Timpson delivered a 68-7 beating in the first round of 2A Division I playoffs. The Bears used the bi-district game to refine their passing attack. Texas A&M commit Terry Bussey completed 14 of 17 attempts for a total of 304 yards passing and six touchdowns. Sophomore Braylon Parker relieved Bussey and threw one pass for 76 yards and a touchdown.

Timpson had three receivers with over 100 yards. Sophomore Chris Nickleberry led the team in receiving yards posting a 135yard game along with two touchdowns. Fellow Sophomore Dacorian Johnson caught four passes for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Amari Bruton reeled in five receptions for 104 yards and a team-high three touchdowns.

Bussey led the team in rushing yards with 88 on five carries. Senior running back Nate Scourton carried the ball six times for 34 yards. Nickleberry also totaled out at 34 yards rushing on only four carries.

Timpson now moves on to the area round of playoffs. This Friday at 7:00pm the Bears will travel to Gladewater to meet the 9-2 Wolfe City Wolves. Wolfe City is the third-place team from District 9. District 11 was well represented last week, as Timpson, Garrison, and Shelbyville secured wins over District 12 in the bi-district round.
