SCSO Investigating Residency Theft

Sheriff Kevin W. Windham reports the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent theft that occurred in the 11000 block of Highway 7 W. On Saturday, October 28, between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., a Polaris RZR PRO R was removed from the residence by an unknown person(s).

Three weeks ago today, our agency faced a tragedy that no one can ever prepare for. The death of Deputy Sheriff Matthew Pierson was a loss that completely broke our hearts. Deputy Pierson was 25 years old at the time of his death, and had been with our agency only five days.

A memorial has been set up for fallen Shelby County Deputy Matthew Pierson who was killed in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday, August 29. The public is invited to leave their condolences for the family at the vehicle or inside the Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Windham undergoes successful double lung transplant

Sheriff Kevin W. Windham underwent a double lung transplant surgery on Tuesday, August 22. The operation went well and he now has new lungs, according to Sheriff Windham’s wife, Brenda Windham, who has been updating the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office throughout the operation process.

Shelby County Sheriff Kevin W. Windham reports that on Sunday, August 20, 2023, a large fire was reported in the Spann's Chapel area off of Highway 96 South.

James Richards was arrested for First Degree Murder and transported to the Shelby County jail.
