Heavy rain and thunderstorms hammer East Texas continously

Large amounts of rainfall throughout the region the first part of the week left creeks and rivers swollen, roads washed out, and created some school cancellations and opening delays. The storm included numerous thunderstorms with some hail. Unofficial reports of more than 10 inches in three days in some places were recorded. Although rain was subsiding, another round was forecast at press time Wednesday and flash flood alerts remained in place.
