Moran to announce re-election campaign in Center

Congressman Nathaniel Moran (TX-1) will announce his campaign for re-election on the Shelby County Historic Courthouse steps in Center Tuesday, August 22, 10 - 11 a.m. According to Moran’s press release, he is a dedicated public servant who upholds conservative values.

Museum opens 100th anniversary photos exhibit

The Shelby County Museum opened its new exhibit Thursday, July 20 featuring two photos taken 100 years apart at the same location on the downtown Center square. On May 5, 1923, Center photographer Roy R. Loving took the first photo of the northwest corner of the square.

Declaration of Independence read at Historic Courthouse in Honor of Independence Day

A formal reading of the United States Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights took place on Friday, June 30, 2023 in the upstairs courtroom of the Historic 1885 Courthouse at 1:30 P.M.
