Timpson Lady Bears Softball team takes on Garrison

The Timpson Lady Bears were at home on Tuesday night to take on the Garrison Lady Bulldogs. Timpson’s Varsity team members were escorted on to the field by the teachers who influenced each player throughout their time at Timpson.

After the team paid tribute to those teachers, the players took the field. 

Garrison and Timpson both made it through the first two innings without allowing a run. After holding Garrison scoreless in the top of the 3rd, Timpson took over.

Harlie Ware reached first base with a walk from Lady Bulldog pitcher Sparks. Sadie Ramsey then singled on a fly ball,and brought Ware in for the Lady Bears first run. Sara Duke was up to bat next. Duke hit a grounder to left field to bring Ramsey home for another Timpson run.

A few plays later Madilyn Ramsey singled to left field bringing Duke in for a run. The Lady Bears ended the 3rd inning leading the Lady Bulldogs 3-0.

Garrison found their groove in the 4th inning, they were able to hold the Lady Bears scoreless, and score 2 runs in their at bat. 

The Lady Bears lost the lead in the 5th inning, after allowing Garrison to sneak in 4 runs in the top of the 5th. Timpson was unable to answer back when Garrison retired the side for Timpson with a 1,2,3 outing. Ending the inning trailing Garrison 3-6.

Things continued to deteriorate for the Lady Bears in the 6th inning as Garrison added 3 more runs to their score, and the Lady Bears were unable to answer.

The game ended with Garrison on top with a final score, Garrison-9 Timpson-3.

Timpson will play their last regular season game at home against Wells on April 19th.
