Timpson picks up Week I victory

Bears defeate Hemphill, 36-26

TIMPSON — With a 36-26 victory at home, Head Coach Kerry Therwhanger said he was proud of the team and the fact they did not give up.

“I was really excited, we could have given up, they came back and got ahead in the second half, our kids battled back, “ he said

The game started off with Hemphill scoring first. The Bears answered back, with Jon Grogan running in for a touchdown tying the score 6-6 with 5:14 left in the 1st quarter, Jordan Osby turned up the pressure by running 85 yards for a touchdown. After a successful 2 point conversion, The Bears lead the Hornets 14-6 at the end of the first quarter.

The two teams battled throughout the second quarter. With time ticking down in the first half, Hemphill led Timpson 18 -14.

Timpson then got a huge boost with Kobe Grogan receiving a 75-yard touchdown reception from Jon Grogan with 37 seconds left in the half.
