Timpson Bears travel across the river for 'The Battle of the Attoyac'
It was a game that had two towns talking. The rivalry was renewed. After many years, Timpson and Garrison were again to meet on the football field.
The two teams would meet once again in the Battle of the Attoyac. The Attoyac River separates the two towns, and fans were pumped up from both sides. Both teams were hoping to hold the bragging rights of winning the game. All week there was a common conversation between fans of either city, this is our year, and we’ll see you at the game Friday.
Throughout the week activities were centered around this game. Both schools had tee shirts for the event. There was a food drive for the local food banks that both schools participated in with the winner to be announced at the game.
The final score was Garrison 41, Timpson 18.
Both teams had over-the-top pep-rallies to cheer on their teams. In Garrison many fans tailgated after the pep-rally, with food and cold drinks. Garrison was the host team.
