Timpson Bears move up to District 11-2A in 2018

Coach Therwhanger has high expectations for team

Head Football Coach Kerry Therwhanger has high expectations for this year's’Timpson Bears’ football program.

Coach Therwhanger made his way to Timpson back in 2016. That year the Bears took third from their district earning a playoff appearance. Unfortunately, Therwhanger and Timpson’s playoff run was short lived, as they fell to Evadale in the first round 52-41.

Last year ended with the Bears making a deep playoff run all the way to the State Quarterfinals. Their season ended at an impressive 11-3. This marked a history making moment for the Bears, as their record tied the best season in school history. This makes the third time the bears have finished at this mark.

This year the Bears find themselves moving up in weight class so to speak. Previously seated squarely within the 2A Division II, Timpson will be making the move to 2A Division I.
