Timpson Bears basketball prepares for district action
Timpson Bear varsity basketball is underway with hopes for a great season.
The Bears are led by Head Coach Bryan Braddock, and Assistant Coach Phil Behrens. Coach Braddock has six years coaching experience, two of those years he has been with the Timpson Athletic Department.
The Bears have nine members on the Roster: Shykeem Washington, Jordan Osby, Cody Hodges, Nick Bennett, Jarrett Page, Garret Askins, Donnell Kegglar, Camden Foster, Braden Courtney.
The Bears are in a rebuilding year, with only three players returning.
Coach Braddock said that his main goal for the team is “To play hard with urgency, not just during the game, but also during practice.”
Coach Braddock feels like the most important lesson that he wants the boys to learn is that how you perform during practice, will directly reflect how you play during the game. He said he is setting the example, “by working with the team every day, giving his all.”
The Bears basketball season is just beginning, due to the Timpson Football team making the playoffs. The Bears are 2-4 in non-district play, and they are continually building their chemistry as a team.
Coach Braddock can see strengths and opportunities with all of his players. When asked what are the players to watch, he said that “Cody Hodges, and Donnell Kegglar would be at the top of the list.”
Timpson Bear Basketball is looking forward to a great season. The Bears will enter district play Dec. 18 when they host Martinsville at the new Collegiate Event Center.
