The Lady Tigers got off to a great start early in the season.
They placed 2nd in the Waskom Invitational, falling short to Waskom 2-0 and they cinched the tournament championship in the New Summerfield Tournament, winning all of their games.
The Lady Tiger soccer team finished the season with a 6-5 win against Carlisle. Their record for the year is 9 wins,2 losses, and 5 ties with all games on the road.
The top scoring team member was sophomore Leslie Flores with 10 goals. Senior Giselle Rico scored 8 goals this season followed by senior Anayeli Aguilar with 7 goals. Senior Sarai Valencia had 3 goals for the season.
Scoring 2 goals for the season was junior Lupita Sandoval, sophomore Annette Castillo, and freshman Sarahi Flores.
Team members with 1 goal for the season were senior Macy Fitzgerald, senior Kaylee Gibbs, and freshman Cindy Hernandez. Sophomore goal keeper, Merly Perales, posted 4 shut outs for the seasons.
“This has been one of the best seasons for the Lady Tigers,” commented Coach Lauri Sisk. “Team camaraderie was exceptional with this group of girls. The girls passed the ball more effectively allowing for more shots on goal,” added Coach Sisk.
The team will be losing a great group of seniors; Anayeli Aguilar, Giselle Rico, Sarai Valencia, Macy Fitzgerald, and Kaylee Gibbs.
Coach Lauri Sisk is looking forward to another great season next year as underclassmen move up and take the lead roles on the team.
