Joaquin Rams JV takes down Ore City, 14-8

Joaquin Rams Junior Varsity played a tough game against the Ore City Rebels Thursday, Sept. 5, winning 14-8. 

First quarter started off with a touchdown for the Rams by junior Joe Pena - followed by a 2-point conversion, putting the score at 8-0.

  With 7 minutes left in the second quarter, Ore City Rebels #7 scored a touchdown, also followed by a 2-point conversion. Putting the two JV teams to a tie of 8-8. 

Six minutes remaining in the second quarter, Rams freshman Sawyer McDaniel ran a 20-yard touchdown putting them at 14-8. With 15 seconds left on the clock, the Rams ended the second quarter with an interception by freshman Ruben Serna.

The Rams started off third quarter strong with a heavy tackle made by freshman Bobby Hendricks, 3 minutes into the quarter. 

The score remained 14-8 until fourth quarter; the Rebels called a timeout with 8.5 seconds left in the quarter before the Rams could take a knee.

Ore City called a second timeout with 7 seconds left in the game in hopes of taking the game into overtime, but the clock ran out and the game ended 14-8 with a victory for the Joaquin Rams JV. 

The Rams JV will be on the road to Shelbyville Thursday, Sept. 12, to play the Dragons away at 5 p.m.
