Jacksonville's 58-49 loss to Center on Tuesday afternoon at the John Alexander Gymnasium could fall under the category of one that got away from the Indians.

The Roughriders (2-0) took their first lead of the afternoon with 7:10 to go in the game as Center went on to outscore the Tribe (0-2) 17-10 the rest of the way, and 19-10 in the fourth quarter, in rallying for the victory.

Jamarrion Evans collected an offensive rebound and dropped it in from the low paint which put Center in front for the first time.

The fourth period opened up with the Indians owning a 39-37 lead, but Center was able to take control of the game late by muscling out several shots from the lane, while taking advantage of Jacksonville hitting just 3-of-10 free throws in the last segment.

Defensively, the 'Riders did what they had to do late by holding the Indians scoreless for the final 1:29.

The 'Riders also out rebounded the Indians 55-35, giving Center the extra possessions it needed against the scrappy, but undersized Tribe.

Jacksonville did a nice job of protecting the ball, turning the rock over nine times to Center's 23.

Unfortunately, the Tribe were not able to generate many points off of the 'Rider gaffes.

Jacksonville led 10-4 after one period of play and 24-17 at halftime.

The Tribe's largest lead was eight points, which occurred twice in the second frame.

Vito High of Jacksonville led all players with 19 points while Desmond Fuller chipped in 16 to complement his six rebounds.

Jonathan Denman paced the Indians with nine boards.

Evans and Makel Johnson tossed in 15 points apiece for the 'Riders.

Jacksonville will return to the hardwood at 6 p.m. Friday when the Indians will take on Longview in the Jasper Ventures Classic, which will be played at C.L. Nix Wildcat Arena in Whitehouse.
