JASPER -- The Center High School Lady Roughriders volleyball team defeated Jasper Tuesday night, three sets to one by scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-16 and 25-19.
In the pre-game Homecoming ceremony, Miss Elizabeth Chavez was crowned queen, and the Homecoming Princess was Miss Jennifer Huichapa.
After last week's loss at Rusk, the Center Roughriders returned home Friday night to face a much more challenging opponent - the Gilmer Buckeyes.
The boys and girls cross country teams from Tenaha and Center high schools ran at a very muddy SFA Invitational Meet on Sept. 2.
Sometime during the second half, I received a text from someone at the Center Roughriders' game at Rusk: “5 or 6 turnovers – coach doesn't look happy.”
