Willie Neil Edwards, 95, of Joaquin, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Joaquin with Bro. Paul Silvey and Bro. Bobby Russell officiating. Interment followed at Willow Grove Cemetery in Joaquin.

Born March 19, 1930, in Fisher, Louisiana, Willie is the son of Frank Edwards and Gussie Knippers Edwards. He served in the United States Army. Willie was employed at Texas Eastern Pipeline for thirty-four years. His hobbies included camping and working in the yard. Willie was a member of Joaquin Masonic Lodge #856, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 903, and First Baptist Church in Joaquin, where he served as a deacon.

He is survived by his son, Kevin Edwards and wife, Mitzi, of Greenwood, Louisiana; daughter, Renee Carver of Grandview; grandchildren, Miranda Dobson, Isaac Carver, Sharon Martinez, Cristina Fonseca, Patricia White, Jacque and husband, Matt Greenwood, Roger Smithee and wife, Crystal, and Cliff Smithee; great-grandchildren, Jazmine, Luis, Maya, Cali, Carlos, Jr., Audrey, Christian, Leighton, Elizabeth, Hannah, Judah, and Ruth Ann (arriving soon); his constant companion, Copper; and his extended family, camping buddies, and many, many friends.

Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Edwards; son, Larry Neil Edwards; one infant child; great-grandson, Ricky Martinez; son-in-law, David Carver; sisters, Myrtle Coleman and Norma Lee Russell.
