Wanda Jean Gray Hamilton, 88, of Joaquin, Texas departed for Glory on January 23, 2020, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Born June 26, 1931 in Shelby Country to James Edison Gray and Benneye Oates Gray. Lived most of her life in the Lone Cedar community, where she was a lifelong member of Lone Cedar Missionary Baptist Church.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Watson and Sons. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Watson and Sons. Internment to follow at
Lone Cedar Cemetery.
Survived by: Loving husband of 67 years, J.C. Hamilton; Daughter, Linda Gail Headrick Hamilton and husband, Lance; Son, Jimmy Hamilton and wife, Tammy; Her “One and Only Little Granddaughter,” Tara Leigh Headrick; Grandsons: Kyle Hamilton Headrick and wife, Katelyn,
James Cody Hamilton and wife, Cassidy; Justin Colby Hamilton and girlfriend, Alexis, Sister, Frances Crocker; Brother, Tommy Gray and wife, Jaunell; Sisters-in law: Tillie Lilly, Fay Baker husband, Daniel, Brother-in-law, Spencer Hamilton and wife Doshia. Also 19 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews and a host of other extended family. Special traveling companions, Eddie Yvonne Pierce, Special sister friend, Irada Oates.
She was preceded in death by parents, James Edison & Benneye Oates Gray, infant daughter, son-in-law, Ken Headrick & sister, Era Lou Gray.
Pallbearers will be her nephews: Ron Crocker, Scooter Gray, Jason Gray, Jay Lilly, Jeff Hamilton, Jonathan Baker, Doug Hedges, Jeb Barney, James Levee and Gary Nixon.
