“Scooter” Tommy Gray, Jr., 65, of Joaquin, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, in Joaquin. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with visitation beginning at noon. Man of God Calvin Turner and Bro. Ricky Knight will officiate. Private family graveside service will follow at Lone Cedar Cemetery in Joaquin.

Born July 21, 1960, in Nacogdoches, Scooter is the son of Tommy Gray, Sr. and Jaunell Smith Gray. He was a retired coal miner and a member of Lone Cedar Missionary Baptist Church in Joaquin.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Jeans Gray of Joaquin; daughters, Emily Lynn and husband, Michael Buckley, of Shelbyville, Brandi Nicole and husband, Robert Floyd, of Joaquin, and Melinda Howard and husband, Micky Ray, of Kingwood; grandchildren, BrieAnna Buckley, Jackson Wyatt Buckley, Josh Buckley, Tye Buckley, Urijah Floyd, Perri Lynne Floyd, Morgan Ray, Meghan Ray, and Mason Ray; parents, Tommy Gray, Sr. and Jaunell Smith Gray; brother, Jason Gray and wife, Terri, of Joaquin; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by grandson, Grayson Bryce Floyd.

Pallbearers were Michael Buckley, Wyatt Buckley, Josh Buckley, Tye Buckley, Robert Floyd, Urijah Floyd, Jimmy Hamilton, and Cody Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers were Darrell “Lizard” Griffith, Jerry “Cooter” Morris, and James Carroll.
