He grew up in Center, TX, and The Heights, Houston. At age 17 Raymond joined the Marine Corps and served his country honorably. During his service he served all over the world including combat tours in Korea and Vietnam. He retired after 24 years, moved his family to Houston, and had a career in carpentry. On the weekends family and friends often gathered at the lake house in Livingston, TX, barbecuing, frying the fish caught from the lake, and playing dominos and poker.
