Don Spincer Jackson, 75, of Shelbyville, Texas, passed away on August 2, 2022, in Shelbyville, Texas. He was born on September 9, 1946, in Center, Texas, to the late William Henry Jackson and Viola Deason Jackson. 

Funeral service will be held at East Hamilton Missionary Baptist Church, 7347 FM 2261, Shelbyville, Texas, on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 3:00PM with Bro. Lamar Denby and Bro. Steven Berry officiating.  Interment will follow at Dunnigan Cemetery, Shelbyville, Texas.  Visitation will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, at East Hamilton Missionary Baptist Church, Shelbyville, Texas from 6:00-8:00PM.

Don was born and raised in Shelby County. He was the last of twelve children. He attended Shelbyville schools. Don married Barbara McCary and they spent over 46 years together.  They raised two wonderful sons, Mark and David. Life happened and the Lord had greater plans. He married Kathryn Higginbotham McCauley and the two were enjoying life together. Don was a logger and carpenter before retiring.  Once retiring you could find him spending lots of time outdoors. You could find him gardening. He enjoyed raising, training, and hunting dogs.  He liked to hunt coons, hogs, and used his trained dogs to do so.  Don never met a stranger.  His loving, compassionate, kind heart set him apart. He loved the Lord and served him at East Hamilton Baptist Church. He served as a deacon of the church for many years. Don’s favorite times were those spent with his boys, grandchildren, and great-grandson.  He loved watching the western channels on television, football, and enjoyed attending sporting events that included his grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn; sons, Mark Jackson  and wife Jennifer, David Jackson and wife Christy; their children’s mother, Barbara Risinger; brothers, Douglas Jackson and wife Marcel, Jimmy Jackson and wife Patricia; grandchildren, Lane, Madison, Dawson, and Ethan Jackson, Beaux, Madalyn, and Sarah Lindley, Victoria and Cody Lindsey, Kenny Price; great grandchildren, Kaine Jackson, Zachary Lindsey, Cale Lindsey, Guinevere Patterson; and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Viola Jackson; brothers, WH Jackson, Beck Jackson, Eugene Jackson, Tommy Jackson, Lavon Jackson, Billy Joe Jackson, Bobby Jackson, Murl Jackson; and sister, Gracie Wilson.

Pallbearers serving will be Mark Jackson, David Jackson, Lane Jackson, Dawson Jackson, Ethan Jackson, Michael Andrews, Cole Cooper, and Jake Wagstaff.

Honorary pallbearers will be Douglas Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, Tommy Cox, Dudley Cox, Brad Morgan, Pete Whitton, Larry Jackson, Roger Jackson, Jerry Deason, and Justin O’Rear, Cody Folsom and Roscoe McSwain Jr.
