Teams of four FFA students gathered at the Shelby County Expo Center at 7:00 a.m. Friday morning, March 3, to compete in the Shelby County AG Mechanics Foundation 1st Annual Build Off. All teams were provided materials and were asked to bring their own tools.
The teams had until 2:00 p.m. to finish welding their structure; a 12, 14 or 16-foot gate made out of 14-gauge tubing. The top 3 teams will receive custom belt buckles as an award.
Teams were allowed to use SMAW, TIG or MIG process and were under the supervision of their AST (or designated school official.) Results coming soon.
