Offensive tempo picking up for Roughriders
With the 2018 season opening game set for a 7:30 p.m. Kickoff Friday at Roughrider Stadium, the Center High squad has been doing exactly what Head Coach Barry Bowman wanted from the team in the early weeks of preseason.
He has seen steady improvements. Bowman said while there are still areas that need to be worked on, he was pleased with the 'Riders performance in a home scrimmage this past Thursday.
“I felt good about how the scrimmage went,” he said. “We didn't turn the ball over and that's always good.
“The thing I was most pleased with was the offensive tempo,” Bowman said. “We played fast, especially in the half we played. We're trying to play an up-tempo type offense and that's what we were able to do.”
