Bake Sale: May 4, 2018 9:00 a.m. On the Center Square – 1:00 P.M. for Kyle & Mackenzie Sheldon
Kyle’s last day of work was November 30, 2017 on his Birthday. He went home for his first appointment and never dreamed how life would change.
Kyle was diagnosed on December 7, 2017 with Lymphoma at UT Southwestern Cancer clinic in Dallas where they did scans and biopsy’s which came back
positive for Non-Hodgkin’s Follicular Lymphoma, Stage three/four. The cancer was in his bone marrow.
Kyle started Chemo, monoclonal Antibody, and many oral medications. After the 3rd treatment Kyle showed amazing Improvement.
May 11th will be his last Chemo treatment. Then they will travel to Dallas every 2 months for 2 years for Monoclonal Therapy.
Kyle & Mackenzie have had Family, Friends and even Strangers donate to help them financially.
“It’s impacted my family in the way that our 3 children know something’s wrong, but it’s impossible to explain to kids what cancer is,
and I don’t want them to know how sick their daddy really is. Some days keeping a brave face is hard, but I want my kids to have a normal a life as
possible. They’re shipped around between our home and my parent’s house for when we are in Dallas. We’ve just told them their daddy is sick and
makes trips to Dallas for medicine. I thank God they’re so young and just accept what I say and don’t ask too many questions about it. It’s hard
accepting the fact that Kyle may have to live with this disease for his wholelife, that it may not ever go away.”
Kyle & Mackenzie Shelton are members of Smyrna Baptist church in Huxley. Due to Kyle’s illness they have not attended for some time. Their children attended Lydia, also.
