Center boys beat Carthage, clinch District 16 championship

Roughriders use Senior Night to avenge earlier district loss

The Center Roughriders defeated the visiting Carthage Bulldogs, 67-42, Friday night to wrap up the 4A District 16 championship.

Center needed Kameron Elmer's buzzer-beating three pointer at the end of the first period to take a 19-18 lead.

It was all Roughriders after that as Center held Carthage scoreless for the first 6:03 of the second period and took a 35-23 lead into the half.

Jamarh Johnson and Kaleb Parks punctuated the night when Johnson led a fast-break and bounced the ball off the backboard to set up a two-handed dunk by the trailing Parks.
