Shelbyville's Fifth Annual Happenings on the Hill

The event took place in downtown Shelbyville, Saturday Oct. 21

Tonight Shelbyville hosted it's fifth Annual Happenings on the Hill. The event took place in the heart of Shelbyville at the intersection of Fm. 417 and Hwy. 87.. There was live music that featured return engagements by, The Blake Brothers Bluegrass Band and the Shreveport band Bucket List, with their mixed rockabilly sounds and local band Zack Mason and the Jars playing popular favorites. We also welcomed back local vocalist Vanita Sims for our opening ceremonies.

The event was hosted by Shelbyville Lions Club and admission was free. It featured a little something for everyone whether it was the Classic Car Show, 42 and washer tournaments, a pumpkin patch and a childrens’s activity area with bounce house.

Local talented artisans displayed their handy craft work, ranging from ceramics, wood, leather and metal work to jewelry, art, repurposed furntiure pieces plus much more.

The festival will also included a variety of food booths, an old-fashioned cake walk, various raffles and “guess the weight” of the giant pumpkin!

Here is a few of the photos from today with more to come!
