LONGVIEW -- Two 2A marching bands from Shelby County will advance to the UIL 2A Area C contest Oct. 28 at Stephen F. Austin Univeristy in Nacogdoches.
Shelbyville and Timpson high schools finished in the top division at today's District 21 contest at Longview High School. San Augustine, West Sabine and Carlisle also advanced.
Center, competing in 4A, also finished in the first division.
Tenaha and Joaquin finished in Division 2, along with Mt. Enterprise, while LaPoynor and Overton finished in third division.
For Center, this will mark the end of the UIL competition, as 4A and 6A alternate years with 3A and 5A. However, the Roughrider will compete in two weeks at the National Association of Military Marching Bands contest at SFA.
Here at the videos of each school's performance. We apologize as we had trouble with the Tenaha video and are seeking a copy.
