Mini Chaparrals to perform TONIGHT following week-long camp

During Halftime of Tonights Varsity Football game

The 2017-2018 CHS Chaparral dance line hosted the Pink Out Mini Camp this week. Eighty-three students from Kindergarten through 6th grade participated in a week of high energy dance lessons organized and lead by the Chaparrals.

"It was fun. The little kids were eager to learn," Freshman Chaparral Kristen Orsak said. "They were very involved. I taught Kindergarten. They ended up getting it pretty quickly, and they enjoyed working."

The mini dancers will perform their routine at half time tonight with the Chaparrals at the Pink Out Football game versus Carthage hosted at Roughrider Stadium. The Chaparrals have chosen to donate the proceeds from the camp, in the amount of $1200, to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

"The Chaps really wanted to effect change in the community," Second Lieutenant Celeste Gibson said. "We wanted to help people by doing what we love, dancing, and teaching younger children how to love dance as well."

They would like to thank the Chaparral Boosters, Jessica McSwain and the former chaparrals that helped make the camp a success. Also, Inez Hughes and F.L. Moffett for the use of their facilities.
