“See You at The Pole”, A Tradition 25 years Strong

Center ISD gathered at the flagpole at 7:00, Wednesday morning for “See you at the Pole”. See you at the pole is a gathering of students in which kids gather together outside their school to pray for everything from their friends, family, school, as well as the community.

“See you at the pole” originated when a small group of teenagers gathered together for a group prayer one morning in the early 1990’s in Burleson Tx. This movement spread and within the same year 45,000 others had joined them in the challenge to “See you at the pole”. Now it’s estimated that this year over one million students participated throughout 64 different countries around the world.

This year at Center a record number of students participated in the event. Center Elementary schools P.T.O. coordinator Casey Lout said, “It was a good turnout, and we had a lot of students participate this year, as we do every year.” There is not an official number of how many students, teachers, and parents were in attendance but it was a great turn out for this event. Center has been participating in “SYTP” for over 25 years, and it seems it’s a tradition that will continue for years to come.
