Timpson students competiting in canned food drive

Busy days for Timpson, band, teams, twirlers & students

Timpson schools officials are super excited to announce that Timpson  FFA and Garrison FFA are teaming up to bring you the 1st annual Battle of the Attoyac Canned Food Drive. Beginning this week, we will accept donations at the Timpson Ag Department and all 3 campuses. The school that provides the most canned food items by halftime of the Garrison Vs. Timpson football game on October 12th will be declared the winner! All items collected in Timpson for the contest will be donated to the Timpson Food Pantry!

 

Timpson Bear football teams are off to a great start! Middle school record is currently 2-0 against Tenaha and West Sabine. The Junior Varsity has a 1-2 record and Varsity is 1-3. JH Bears play tonight in Harleton at 5:30 and Varsity’s next game is a home game against Harleton, Friday October 5th at 7:30. Come out and support our mighty Bears!

 

Wednesday October 3rd the Timpson cross country teams ran in Hemphill.

The Junior High team includes Alleigh Campbell-1st place, McKenna Wynn-2nd place, Kallie Solomon-3rd place, Blair Askins-5th place, McKenley Wynn- 7th place, Brette Behrens-8th place  and D’Chelle Garner- 10th place.

The JH Bear team included Tyler Lane-3rd place, Dylan Crawford-7th place, Dalton Beckham- 7th place, Terry Bussey-8th place, Quinn Timmons, and Cooper Dawson.

JV Lady Bears ran with Laiton Braddock- 5th place, Kaleigh Timmons- 6th place, Brylee Behrens- 8th place and Hannah Jones.

TLB varsity includes Amiyah Soto- 1st place, Jaycee Campbell- 10th place, Kamryn Courtney, Kelley Garcia, Harlie Ware, and Ashton Harris.

The varsity Boys team includes Brandon Robles, Carmen Flores, Lupe Alverado, Santiago Flores, and Jose Galavis.

District meet will be hosted in New Summerfield on October 10th.  

 

TLB Volleyball defeated Carlisle on Tuesday night, neither the JV nor Varsity lost a single set. The varsity has a season record of 24-5 and district record of 6-1. Kamryn Courtney led the team with 14 kills, 11 set assists, 21 digs and 2 aces. Her team mates were solid as well, Brylee Behrens added 4 kills, 9 digs, 16 set assists, and 2 aces in addition to Emily Garcia’s 5 kills and 2 blocks and Harlie Ware’s 4 kills and 4 blocks. Da’Mya Collins assisted with her own 4 kills and Sara Duke helped out with 11 digs and 2 aces. Way to go Lady Bears!

 

In JH volleyball news the 7th and 8th grade teams played in Gladewater on Saturday. The 7th grade went 2-1 and won the 3rd place game.

 

The Bear Band is preparing for their UIL Region Marching Contest on October 20th at SFA. The twirlers are hard at work as well for their UIL Twirling Solo and Ensemble competition on October 24th in Lufkin.
