Joaquin Rams, Tenaha Tigers advance in playoffs

Tenaha plays at 2 p.m. Friday; Joaquin at 7 p.m.

Then there were two .... Shelby County teams advancing in playoff action:

The Tenaha Tigers advance to the Area Round of the playoffs! They will take on Centerville at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at Palestine High School. Tickets $6 for adults and $4 students at the gate. All district, THSCA, and Senior Citizen passes accepted. Tenaha will be the home team.

The Joaquin Rams (9-2) will square off with the Carlisle Indians (11-0) at 7 p.m. Friday at Bulldog Stadium in Carthage. The Indians are champions of District 10AA Division 1.

This past Friday, Nov. 16, was an historic night that saw all five Shelby County teams in playoff action for the first time ever. The Center Roughriders fell to the Liberty Panthers 55-28, and the Timpson Bears were defeated by the San Augustine Wolves 40-12, while the Tenaha Tigers eliminated the Shelbyville Dragons by a score of 49-18.
