Center High School student athletes in fall sports to report Monday, Aug. 3
Center High School student athletes participating in fall sports of volleyball, cross county and football should be ready to show up for practice on Monday, Aug. 3.
Football Coach and Center ISD Athletic Director Scott Ponder said he and the coaching staff are anxious to get practice underway. Coach Doug Boone is returning as the Riders cross country coach while Lee Lusk is taking over volleyball coach duties.
Boone said all Center High School girl and boy students in grades 9-12, interested in going out for the cross country team should report to practice on Monday Aug. 3, from 7:00-8:30 a.m.
“Everyone interested should meet at the football field house for a short meeting before practice begins,” Boone said. “Be sure and bring your own water bottle, running shoes, and towel.”

Coach Lusk said the first Lady Roughriders volleyball practice will be from 8 a.m. -11 a.m. On Monday, Aug. 3. Center High girl athletes in grades 9-12 should report then.
“Everyone who is interested needs to meet at the high school gym at 7:45 a.m.” Lusk said.”Bring your own water bottle and shoes.”

CISD extracurricular requirement
CISD has made the decision to allow only those students enrolled in the brick and mortar system to be involved in extracurricular activities. During our discussion, it was determined that logistically it is better for these students to be in our brick and mortar buildings rather than in virtual learning at home.
