San Augustine County Pro Rodeo set Friday and Saturday, May 10 & 11

Action kicks off at 7:30 p.m. nightly

The San Augustine County Pro Rodeo kicks off a two-day run on Friday, May 10, with loads of action set for the arena and admission is free.

The rodeo is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the San Augustine County Fairgrounds, 1109 Oaklawn Street in San Augustine. Sign up for kids' mutton bustin' is 6 p.m., each night with mutton bustin' scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Friday is “Pink Out Night” at the rodeo while Saturday will feature “Patriotic Night.” Organizers said the rodeo features $9,500 in added prize money for contestants in a vareity of events ranging from bareback, saddle bron, ranch broc, bull riding, streer wrestling, barrel racing and tie down barrel racing.

 A calf scramble will also be held nightly.

Among the featured attractions is rodeo clown Mark Swingler who has been three time top five PRCA Clown of the Year and nine time top 5 Coors Barrelman.

The rodeo is sponsored by the San Augustine County Chamber of Commerce, Hat Brand Rodeo, Prime Energy Services and Morris Cattle Company.
