Extrication equipment called in for wreck on Texas 87 South outside of Shelbyville
Emergency personnel from multiple agencies were on the scene Friday afternoon on Texas 87 working a major wreck involving two pickup trucks with extrication equipment called in to help free one of the victims.
The wreck was reported shortly after 3 p.m., Texas 87 South outside of Shelbyville in front of Parker's Package Store and Double J BBQ and Steakhouse
Shelbyville Volunteer Fire Department volunteers, City of Center firefighters, Texas Department of Public Safety, Shelby County Sheriff's Office personnel, Allegiance EMS and a Texas Game Warden were all involved in freeing the victim, investigating the wreck or helping to direct traffic at the scene.
A Ford F-150 was being towed from the scene while Center Firefighters worked with their extrication equipment to free the victim trapped in another pickup which was off the highway and down a slight incline where it came to rest in a wooded area.
