JOAQUIN — Troy Massey and Tri-State Vacuum and Rentals of Shelby County were recognized this fall by Texas Mutual Workers' Compensation Insurance as a Platinum Safety Partner.
According to Texas Mutual, the insurance firm has more than 72,000 insurance clients in Texas and the Platinum Award recognizes Tri-State as being in the top 200 of those firms from all across the state. The honor recognized Tri-State's “dedication to employee health and safety” for 2019.
Massey said the firm was recently moved from the Tenaha area to new headquarters at 12267 U.S. 84 in Joaquin to better handle the needs of the growing oil field service firm.
“We now have 140 trucks and nearly 200 employees,” Massey said. The Texas Mutual award was presented during an employee appreciation event where staffers were served a steak lunch at the Joaquin yard. This was the second year in a row Tri-State has received the recognition.
A Texas Mutual representative said the honor is especially impressive with the fact Tri-State operates in the in the salt water disposal end of the energy business.
Texas Mutual this year reached a record-breaking milestone when its board of directors voted unanimously to approve a $330 million dividend distribution in 2019.
As a result, more than 55,000 business owners, nearly 75 percent of qualifying policyholders, will receive a check, for their ongoing commitment to workplace safety.
Since Texas Mutual's first dividend payout in 1999, they have delivered $2.8 billion to businesses across Texas.
"We are proud to continue to share the company's success through our one-of-a-kind dividend program, made possible by the agents we partner with and safety-conscious employers," said Rock Spraggins, senior safety consultant for Texas Mutual.
The firm's dividend tradition supports businesses who create safe work environments for their employees and helps contribute to their bottom line. We recognize the powerful impact these investments have on Texas businesses and the Texas economy overall.
