Joaquin VFD contains fire damage in early Tuesday morning home blaze
The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 100 block of Morris Street at 1:23 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Autom mutual aid was dispatched from DeSoto Fire Dis #1, according to Stephen Ewing, volunteer with the Joaquin VFD.
“Firefighters arrived to find a single story, wood frame, brick veneer home with fire venting from the roof on two sides,” he said.
An aggressive interior attack resulted in a quick knockdown of the fire. Fire damage was limited to the master bedroom and bathroom area of the home, with heavy smoke damage to the rest of the structure, Ewing said.
After conducting salvage and overhaul operations, he said, fire units cleared the scene and returned to the station at 4:33 a.m.
