VFW Gold Star Banner honors planned May 30

The “Gold Star Banner” or service flag honors a family that has had a service member die during a period of war or hostilities.  The Gold Star represents “sacrifice to the cause of liberty and freedom”.

Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Auxiliary would like to recognize families who have lost a loved one during a time of war or hostilities with a Gold Star Banner at our annual Memorial Day program Monday, May 30 at 11 a.m. at the Windham Civic Center.

If you or your family have not been previously recognized please contact Post Quartermaster Larry Hume at 936-332-0349 or email chiefhume95@gmail.com to identify the lost veteran and family member(s) who will be attending to accept the banner.
