New Murphy USA fuel pumps expected to be in operation by late October
The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors joined new chamber member Murphy USA and staff in a ground breaking ceremony for a new fueling station going up in front of Center's Walmart.
The event was held on Sept. 21 at the site where a previous vehicle fueling operation has been torn down and removed in recent weeks. Courtney Shick, district manager for Murphy USA, said the “raze and rebuild” project is one of many the company is doing system wide to update facilities.
She said the new replacement facility should be in operation by late October, although a firm opening date has not been set. Shick said the location will have between seven and 10 employees on staff when it does reopen.
The company provided refreshments to chamber members attending the event. Chamber Ambassador Chairwoman Andrea Foster said the investment by Murphy USA in Center is appreciated and should serve the community for years to come.
