Individuals on three Center ISD campuses tested positive for COVID-19, district announced late Monday
Center ISD late Monday afternoon announced that one individual on each of three district facilities has tested positive for COVID-19, according to Supt. Dr. Brian Morris.
In notices distributed to parents, guardians, staff and the media, he said an individual at Little Rider Academy, another at Center Middle School and one at Center High School had each tested positive for COVID-19. In the case at Little Rider Academy, the individual was last on the campus this past Thursday, Sept. 10.
For the other two individual cases, at the high school and middle school, the individual who tested positive was last on each of those respective campuses on Friday, Sept. 11. The notices did not indicate whether the COVID-19 positive individuals were students, teaches or staff members.
“CISD's mitigation plan provides for extensive cleaning and sanitation protocols as well as social distancing procedures, as well as wearing of face masks,” Morris said. These procedures in and of themselves decrease the risk of someone contacting COVID-19 from these individuals, his statement said.
“Please be assured CISD is taking swift and immediate action to limit the spread by following direction from our local health department,” Morris said.
“Should you or your child have come in 'close contact' — which is determined by the health department contact tracing team, the health department will contact you with instruction,” he said.
NOTE: Copies of the letters going to CHS, CMS and Little Rider Academy had the same work with the exception of the name of the and the last time the positive testing individual had been on the respective campus. Copies of the letter addressing Little Rider Academy in English and Spanish are attached.
