Holiday hospitality events continue

Center High School theater production set Tuesday evening at the Rio Theatre

Holiday happenings continue for several days around Center and Shelby County, including a unique opportunity to see a play performed by Center High School students prior to Tuesday night's showing of Ralph Breaks the Internet at the historic Rio Theatre on the downtown square.

Tuesday, December 18

• Double Feature Tuesday — The Center High School Theatre Department is working with Mike and Nita Adkinson, owners of the Rio Theatre on the downtown Center Square, to present a "Double Feature Tuesday."

The Department will present The Mayflower Inn, a fun 25-minute comedy written by Chris Watlington for the holiday season, on the historic Rio stage.

The play features performances by Ellie Walker, Allissa Hall, Kristen Orsak, Kennedy Bush, Angel Pineda, Mark Perkins, Kelsey Adair, Alex Spruiell, Kaitlyn Duvon, Jada Gregg, Nahomi Bautista, and Keaton Watlington.

The Mayflower Inn will be Tuesday December 18 at 6:45.  Immediately following the live play, the Rio will present Wreck It Ralph.  Audiences will get two shows for the price of one that night.

Where else in America will there be a live play performing as an opening act for a major motion picture?  It's Double Feature Tuesday at the Rio Tuesday night!
