Center Motor Co. honored by Ford Credit for 5 decades
Center Motor Company was honored on Aug. 21 by Ford Credit for having a business relationship that has spanned 50 years.
Receiving a crystal trophy and certificate signifying the occasion were Ray Jones, Kevin Jones and Marlin Jones. In Center for the event from Ford Credit was Chad Prejean from Houston. Only less than 6 percent of the 1,800 Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealers in the nation have been so recognized, Prejean said.
“Only about 100 dealers nationwide have been representing Ford Credit for 50 years or more,” Prejean said. “It represents a continuous relationship of more than 50 years.”
Kevin Jones, general manager at the family operated dealership, said the honor represents decades of work for his family and the staff at Center Motor Co.
“We started out in 1951,” Kevin Jones said. In 1980 the dealership bought out another dealer and about three years ago it relocated to the current spot at 815 Hurst St.
Prejean presented a letter from Randy Crites, vice president of Ford Credit U.S. Sales Operations.
“On behalf of the entire Ford Credit team, I thank you for your loyalty and support,” Crites said. “Center Motor Company is among a small number of dealers who have achieved this impressive milestone with us.”
Crites said long business relationships like the one between Ford Credit and Center Motor Company are built on a “foundation of trust, integrity and common goals.”
