Friends and co-workers of Center Police Department Officer Andrew Williams will be having a Medical Benefit Fundraiser to be held on Friday, January 4.

Williams was injured in a vehicle crash on December 20th while off duty, according to Amy Lindley, Center Police Department spokeswoman.

Barbecue Chicken Plates cooked by the Shelby County Cookers will include baked beans, potato salad, dessert and a drink for $10 a plate.

“The fundraiser will be on the Center Square and plates will be available for pick up at 11 a.m.,” Lindley said. Pre-sold plates will be available for delivery to area businesses.

Anyone who would like to pre order or who would like an order form at their business, please call or message (936) 591-1576, (936) 657-9866 or (936) 645-1487.

“Officer Williams had to have surgery on his legs and will also be wearing a neck brace for the next eight-to -10 weeks,” Lindley said. “While recovering he will be out of work for a while and can use all the help he can get.

“Please help any way you can including continued prayers for a speedy and painless recovery,” she said.
