Two Center residents hospitalized after Wednesday morning wreck
SHELBY COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a one-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, July 22, on FM 417, just west of FM 2694.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 8:15 a.m., a 2003 BMW passenger car was traveling west at an unsafe speed when the vehicle crossed over the eastbound lane and drove off the roadway where it struck a tree.
The driver is identified as 19-year-old Jonathan Gomez from Center. Gomez was transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital for treatment.
A passenger traveling with Gomez is identified as 16-year-old Adrian Aparicio. Aparicio was also transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital for treatment.
First responders at the scene used emergency extrication equipment to help free occupants from the car.
No additional information is available at this time.
Texas DPS, Center Fire Department, Pct. 2 Shelby County Constable, Allegiance EMS and Shelby County Sheriff's Office units were all on the scene.
