Trail of live chickens and chicken carcasses left along Hwy 87 South Monday morning

No one seriously injured in one-vehicle wreck

A single vehicle semi-trailer truck taking a load of live chickens to a processing plant in Nacogdoches was involved in a wreck Monday morning between 7 and 7:30 a.m.

The wreck left a trail of chicken carcasses and live chickens about 100 yards long Monday on the roadway and in the ditch near the Hwy 87 and County Road 3012 intersection.

The truck cab and trailer were on their sides with the northbound lane of Hwy 87 South of Center where one lane of traffic was moving.

Driver Jeffrey Undercoffler of Cushing said he was shaken up but was not hurt bad and he was not transported by ambulance. He was driving a JBS semi.

DPS, Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Center Police Department, EMS and Center Fire Department units were on the scene
