Shelbyville students reap medals at SFA UIL Invitational Meet

More than 700 studetns from 30 schools competed

Shelbyville High School’s Academic UIL team competed at the first annual SFA Lumberjack Invitational Academic UIL Meet on Jan. 24.

There were 30 schools from 1A-5A with more than 700 students competing on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus.

“This is the largest UIL invitational meet we have ever attended,” said Shelbyville ISD UIL coordinator Esther Harrison.

• Emily Nicosia - 2nd Place Ready Writing

• Ava Silva - 3rd Place Informative Speaking

• Trey Smith - 4th Place Number Sense
