Shelby County First Responders treated to an Appreciation Lunch
Shelby County First Responders were treated to a barbecue lunch on Friday, May 17, hosted by Center Independent School District and the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors.
The event is a way for the community to give back and show appreciation to the women and men who daily serve them in maintaining order, enforcing the law and protecting the lives and property of residents.
Deborah Chadwick, chamber president, said well over 100 first responders were expected to have been served between 11 a.m. And 1 p.m. The lunch was held at the Center ISD bus barn located on Loop 500 with a barbecue luncheon buffet served.
First Responders, including police officers, department of public safety officers, constables, sheriff deputies, firemen, medics, game wardens and law enforcement officials were the be honored guests.
“Often, service involves personal sacrifices and even personal danger,” Chadwick said. "The appreciation lunch recognizes the contribution law enforcement makes to the community."
