Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society's program on using DNA in family tree research
Patti Huff Smith, currently the director of volunteer coordination at The Dallas Genealogical Society, will be the guest speaker at the Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society's monthly meeting at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, in the meeting room of the Timpson Public Library.
Her program titled “Between the Lines” is one family's journey to “discover new family connections, solve stubborn brick walls, and uncover family secrets buried long ago, revealed through the DNA tests of 38 family members,” Smith said.
“In this DNA program, you will learn a simple and easy approach to help utilize your DNA results successfully,” Smith said. “Using, but not limited to, Ancestry. Com results and loading them onto GEDmatch.com will be a strong portion of this presentation.”
Attendees should leave “inspired, equipped, and ready to get the most out of your DNA results,” Smith said.
The Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society meets the third Wednesday of every month in the meeting room of the Timpson Public Library, located on the corner of Austin and Bremond Streets in downtown Timpson. The public is invited.
