Paddie easily wins re-election to Texas State House of Representatives

Four term District 9 Texas State Rep. Chris Paddie was re-elected in the Texas House of Representatives by a wide margin in Tuesday's Republican Party primary election.

Paddie was leading Mark Williams 78 percent to 21 percent in unofficial results.

With no candidate signed up to run in the Democrat primary, Paddie will start his fifth term in January 2021.

Besides Shelby County, House District 9 includes Panola, Harrison, Marion, Cass, Sabine and counties.

In Shelby County, Paddie won with 4,171 votes, or 81.83 percent of the total vote. Williams had 926 votes in the county for 18.17 percent of the total.

In Panola County, Paddie received 2,861 votes to Williams’s 1,247. In Marion County, Paddie had 723 votes to Williams’s 198. In Cass County, Paddie got 1,590 votes to Williams’s 275. In Sabine County, Paddie had 1,707 votes to Williams’s 426.
