Happy Texas Independence Day!

Texas Independence Day is the celebration of the adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence from Mexico on March 2, 1836.  Signed by 59 delegates, this document officially declared independence from Mexico and created the Republic of Texas.    Texas Independence Day is an annual legal holiday in Texas. Today, March 2nd, also marks the special observances of Texas Flag Day and Sam Houston Day in Texas.
